Welcome to M.P. Coleman

Surfacing has been the core business for M.P. Coleman Ltd for generations. We have a wealth of experience and a highly skilled team from management to site operatives.

M.P. Coleman is situated at Brigh Quarry, Brigh Road, Stewartstown and has a fully dedicated and operating Asphalt production Plant.

We offer a complete range of surfacing products in Asphalt Concrete, including a range of CE certified Asphalt Concrete in line with BS EN 13108.

Our materials, contracting services and professional expertise support the delivery of public, commercial and private projects of all sizes, from large Health Trust infrastructure to children’s play parks to home driveways.

Today, we operate as part of the Banbridge-based Gibsons Bros group and can draw on the industry-leading experience and resources.

M.P. Coleman Ltd carry out a wide range of works for government bodies, commercial businesses, as well as private individuals and companies. There are 3 distinct divisions within M.P. Coleman Ltd.

Material Supply

We supply Asphalt blacktop to all relevant specifications. We operate a range of accredited and certified quality assurance systems, ensuring our customers and clients receive the highest standard of works and materials at all times.

We also manufacture and supply a range of Cold Asphalt Concrete, under the trade name of ColMac. This product is designed to be a repair product for small area/potholes, or as a temporary product in larger areas.

It is widely used by Utility Companies and their appointed contractors, to repair areas of road and footpaths during works, keeping areas safe and trafficable until final reinstatement is possible. It has the considerable advantage of being applied Cold, allowing it to be brought in and kept on hand for several days, with no special tools or machinery needed and no “hot works” required.

Available from 25 KG bags up to full delivered lorry loads of 20 Ton.

Surfacing

We have dedicated surfacing teams and plant and equipment, carrying out surfacing on a daily basis. We can offer a complete package of works, whereby our Civil Engineering divisions can carry out any preparatory or initial works.

Civil Engineering

Complete works for all Civil engineering, Site Preparation, including Design and Advice, using our own plant and site operatives. We have highly skilled and experienced management and site teams capable of undertaking a varied and wide range of works.

Accreditation

M.P. Coleman’s have in place an extensive and fully implemented system of quality control which covers all aspects of the business from manufacture to installation. These systems are externally certified by a UKAS approved Certification Body (BM Trada) and are combined within a central Integrated Management System. We are also governed by the codes of practice and ethics of the Construction Employers Federation.

The Quality Management System for civil engineering and supply of bitumen. Specifically, compliance with UK National Highway Sector Schemes for the production (No 14) and laying (No 16) of asphalt mixes.

The Environmental Management Quality Control System for civil engineering, the manufacture of bitumen and the laying of bitumen/asphalt. Recognition of our commitment to improving the sustainable use of raw materials and minimising our impacts on the environment.

We continually seek to improve on our Ecological, Economic and Social sustainable aspects of our business and production.

OHSAS 18001:2007

Health and Safety Management System

The Occupational Health and Safety Management System for structures and culture that support continuous improvement towards a safe workplace.

We have held SafeTcert Certification for our health and safety systems, and have taken the steps to expand this by integrating it into other management systems within our business. It has now been certified to OHSAS 18001 standards and requirements.

Bituminous mixtures

The European standard that specifies the materials, composition, testing, and production requirements for bituminous asphalt mixtures used in roads, airfields, and other trafficked surfaces to ensure consistent quality and performance.

All our Asphalt products have completed the necessary CE Certification.
